Amped Trampoline Park Review – River Valley Singapore

Amped Trampoline Park Singapore River Valley

Trampoline parks seem to be the latest popular activity as recently there have been quite a few that have opened in Singapore with Amped Trampoline Park being Singapore’s first. Amped is a well established trampoline park chain that operates in several countries including Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia and they have two branches in Singapore – one in River Valley and the other in Jurong. The branch in River Valley is around a 15 minute walk from either Somerset or Clarke Quay MRT and it’s the only centrally located trampoline park in Singapore.

Amped Trampoline Park is where you can jump on over 5000 square feet of interconnected trampolines. They charge $12 per hour on Mondays going up to $18 per hour on peak days and times and this comes with a free bottle of mineral water. The branch in Jurong is slightly cheaper though. It’s compulsory for everyone to wear grip socks on the trampolines for safety and hygiene purposes. Grip socks are a bit like Totes slipper socks where they have a slip-resistant tread and if you don’t own a pair they are only $3 at Amped. As the trampoline park can get quite busy it’s probably best to book your slot online before you go unless you’re going during off-peak times. You can also check on their website to see if there are places available before you go. They recommend getting there at least 15 minutes before your booking time so that you can check-in with them.

I went there yesterday for their first slot of the day at 10am and booked a session for one hour. You have to fill in a waiver form before you can use the trampoline park so that Amped are not liable for any injuries if you happen to incur any. Amped don’t have any lockers so you have to leave your belongings on a chair or in one of the shoe boxes available and although your stuff should be very safe, after all this is Singapore, you may not want to bring anything valuable with you to Amped. After changing into my grip socks a member of staff then gave us a quick induction and orientation of the trampoline park and their rules such as only one person being allowed on a trampoline at a time and the number of people allowed in certain areas, etc. After this we were allowed to jump to our hearts content! Well.. within an hour at least. An hour I think is a good amount of time to use the trampoline park though. It’s not a particularly big trampoline park but it’s a decent size and has several different areas that you can go.

All the different areas are fun to use and don’t worry the foam pit area has a trampoline at the bottom and it’s not a hard floor as I thought at first! Also as the trampolines are quite small, be careful not to land on the cushioned edges of each trampoline as they’re quite hard and could hurt if you land hard on them.

There are quite a lot of staff attending the trampolines at Amped and they’re all very friendly and gave us useful tips on the best techniques to use whilst jumping and using the different areas. So don’t be afraid to ask them any questions as they’re very helpful.

Our trampolining session was so much fun and the hour passed very quickly. It’s a great place for kids too, there were quite a few mothers with their children there when we went. Amped is usually available for all ages but on Mondays from 3-7pm it’s for children of 11 years and under only and on Friday 7-10pm it’s for people that are 12 years and older only.

It’s probably best to wear sportswear when you go as you’ll probably get quite sweaty from jumping around even though the place has air conditioning. Apparently 10 minutes of jumping on a trampoline is equivalent to 30 minutes of running! But it really doesn’t feel like exercise at all and I think running is definitely more taxing. Anyway I’ll be back for sure as it’s so much fun!
