Green Signature is a restaurant chain in Singapore that serves healthy vegetarian Chinese food. Their new branch in Punggol’s Waterway Point shopping centre is spacious with tables spaced comfortably apart, perfect for a leisurely meal with friends or family or even on your own.
I went there on Tuesday for lunch and took advantage of the great offer that Eatigo are currently having for 50% off items on the a la carte menu. The hubby and I were given a comfortable booth table and a high chair for the little one. Green Signature has a huge menu consisting of different types of porridge, soups, claypot dishes, handmade beancurd, rice dishes, noodles, stir fried vegetables, hotplate dishes and many other classic Chinese dishes as well as a selection of deep fried vegetables in the highly popular salted egg yolk sauce. Order forms were available on the table for us to write down our order and after handing it to the waitress our food arrived promptly.
We ordered the Claypot Gong Bao Chicken ($16.90) and Stir Fried Crispy Tofu Skin in Sweet and Sour Sauce ($12.90). The “chicken” in the Claypot Gong Bao Chicken is of course not real chicken since Green Signature is a vegetarian restaurant. It is made from soy and has a texture that’s similar to chicken. It was cooked in a slightly sweet and spicy soy sauce with cashews, peppers and plenty of dried chillies. This Sichuan dish is one of the recommended dishes on the menu and it was nice but nothing really special.
I enjoyed the Stir Fried Crispy Tofu Skin in Sweet and Sour Sauce, the tofu skin was very crispy and delicious with the not too sweet sweet and sour sauce.
We each had a bowl of brown rice ($1.50) which is actually the same price as white rice so we went for the healthier option 🙂
Overall the meal was pleasant, the food wasn’t amazing but it was a nice healthy vegetarian meal at a good price with the Eatigo offer. I would definitely like to go back to try the salted egg yolk dishes and some of their other food. Service there is friendly and efficient too. Currently the branch in Waterway Point are having an opening offer on weekdays from 10.30am until 5pm where you can get a set meal with a drink and/or rice starting from just $7.90. Green Signature also currently have an offer on Fave where you can get a $25 voucher for just $10 – that’s a 60% discount!
