Taboo Club Review – Gay Bar & Club Singapore

By | January 11, 2016

Taboo nightclub is Singapore’s only gay club; it is a small club located on Neil Road near Outram Park MRT but also walk-able from Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar MRT stations. It has a small and not too obvious entrance but you’ll usually see a queue or a bunch of people hanging around the door on a Friday and Saturday night when it’s open.

Taboo Club Singapore Entrance

I’ve been to Taboo several times with some of my gay friends here and it’s always packed within the hour of it opening with a good crowd of regulars, both Singaporeans and expats, that are mostly men and a few women who are usually there to accompany their male besties. Every Friday and Saturday night from 10pm to 12am, they have their “Liquid Buffet” promotion which is free-flow beer and spirits for only $30 including free entry to the club. This is one of the best free-flow deals that I’ve come across in Singapore and it’s very popular so it’s best to get to the club early as they only allow a limited number of people to get this deal. After midnight entrance to the club is $25 and sometimes includes a free drink.

Taboo Club Singapore Dance Floor

They have a decent sized dance floor which usually gets very crowded after midnight when everyone is pumped full of alcohol and ready to dance the rest of the night away to the latest dance hits and house music. They also have a bar on the second floor where you can chill out if you’re not in the mood to dance and this bar is also open additionally on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Taboo Club Singapore Bar

The bar staff at Taboo are quick and efficient; they have to be given the speed at which people are downing their drinks during the free-flow hours. There’s also a drinks promotion of 2 for the price of 1 on all housepour double shots and pitchers all night.

Taboo club has monthly special events and one of their most popular is the “Handbag Party” where you get to see the best drag divas in Singapore strut their stuff. This event is held every second Saturday of the month and the show starts just after midnight. The video below is a video collage I made of the show last December 🙂

Anyway hope you’ve enjoyed reading my review of Taboo. It’s a really fun place to hang out and you always end up bumping into the same friendly faces when you go there. If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment below! 🙂
